Sang Ly and Ki Lim live on Stung Meanchey: a dangerous landfill site in Cambodia. They earn a living collecting recyclables from the piles of putrifying filth and pay rent for the privilege of living in such squalor. Nisay, their son, is sick from living in such an unhealthy environment. Not surprisingly, Sang Ly desperately wants a better future for her son and, unbeknownst to them, it is the rent collector who holds the key. Despite its setting, this is a story of great hope and redemption that leaves you with a strong sense of the resilience of people in the hardest of circumstances.
